Linear regression
Objective: Linearize the basic physical equation of experiment by choosing the appropriate combination of axes. Use the formula to think about which quantities you need to plot on the axes to create a linear relationship — and you can calculate the physical quantity you are looking for from the slope or axis intercept.
Measurements
The following variables are recorded in this experiment. Various axis combinations can be formed from these basic variables (e.g. squared, inverted) in order to make a linear relationship visible.
Current axis selection
The regression parameters always refer to the currently selected axis combination. If you change the axes in the chart tab, the values here update automatically.
Calculated regression parameters
Linear regression determines the straight line y = m x + c, which best fits the data points. What is crucial is that the choice of axis is derived from the basic equation of experiment — only then have gradient m and intercept c a physical meaning from which the desired quantity can be determined.
Measured values: Here you can see your recorded raw data in the original representation — as you entered them or took them from the data record.

Plot data: This table shows the currently displayed values — i.e. the measurement data after the selected transformation (e.g. squared, logarithmized). These transformed values are plotted on the axes in the diagram.
