Save / load workspace

Save your lab results on this server for 48 hours. Use the token to continue on another device. Anyone who knows the token can open your workspace.

Save workspace

A name is required when you first save and is then permanently bound to this workspace. Task values, entries and progress are saved together.

Load workspace

New workspace

Start with empty results and a name of your choice. Previously saved tokens remain valid until they expire. Unsaved changes in this tab will be discarded.

Saving also transfers any included measurement files and analysis videos to this server. Running simulations are saved as a set of results and displayed in a paused state when loaded.

Engineering applications

Programming task — enter your code and have it checked. The checks supply fixed inputs and verify the required output lines.

You can use round or the decimal-place formatting of an f-string. Find out how to specify the required number of decimal places.

The checks accept trailing zeros: 14.0 and 14.00 count as the same numeric value. What matters is the correctly rounded value and the required output lines.

Part 1 — Total resistance of a parallel circuit

Read in four resistors, calculate the total resistance and output it exactly.

Exercise

Write a program that finds the total resistance of four resistors connected in parallel calculated.

  1. Read four resistance values one after the other float(input()) there.
  2. Calculate the total resistance of the parallel circuit: 1/Rges = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 + 1/R4.
  3. Round to 2 decimal places and output the result in exactly that form — e.g. B. Gesamtwiderstand: 2.5 for four resistors of 10 each Ω.

Important The label Gesamtwiderstand: must be written exactly like that, and it must be allowed no additional output are allowed — the checks compare numeric values while accepting trailing zeros. The guide explains how to read and round values.

Part 2 — voltage divider

Calculate the partial voltage from the total voltage and two resistors.

Exercise

For a series circuit containing two resistors R1 and R2 is the total voltage U_ges on. Calculate that Partial voltage that over R2 falling.

  1. Read three values one after the other float(input()) a: first Uges, then R1, then R2.
  2. Calculate the partial voltage R2: U2 = Uges · R2 / (R1 + R2).
  3. Round to 2 decimal places and output the result in exactly that form — e.g. B. Teilspannung: 6.0 for Uges=12, R1=R2=100.

Important Remember the brackets (R1 + R2) and write the label Teilspannung: exactly — with no additional output.

Part 3 — Tensile stress

Calculate the mechanical stress from force and cross-sectional area.

Exercise

A tension rod is with the force F (in N) loaded and has the cross-sectional area A (in mm²). This is what we are looking for Stress σ (in N/mm² = MPa).

  1. Read two values float(input()) a: first the power F, then the area A.
  2. Calculate the tensile stress σ = F / A.
  3. Round to 2 decimal places and output the result in exactly that form — e.g. B. Zugspannung: 150.0 for F=15000 N and A=100 mm2.

Note This is exactly the calculation behind it Tensile test in the laboratory. label Zugspannung: Write it exactly, with no additional output.

Principles read in → Foundation 1, formula σ = F/A → Foundation 2, round & output → Foundation 4.

Part 4 — Hydraulic pump power

Implement a formula with fixed physical constants in Python.

Exercise

A pump delivers water with the volumetric flow rate Q (in m³/s) to the delivery head H (in m). What we are looking for is hydraulic power P (in W) at the density ρ = 1000 kg/m³ and the acceleration due to gravity g = 9,81 m/s2.

  1. Read two values float(input()) a: first Q, then H. The constants ρ = 1000 and g = 9.81 you set yourself in the code.
  2. Calculate the hydraulic power P = ρ · g · Q · H.
  3. Round to 1 decimal place and give the result with unit in exactly this form - e.g. B. Pumpenleistung: 4905.0 W for Q=0,05 m³/s and H=10 m.

Important Paper g in the code with period as decimal separator (9.81). Between value and W there is exactly one space; label Pumpenleistung: exactly, with no additional output.

Principles read in → Foundation 1, constants (ρ, g) & Unit → Foundation 3, round & output → Foundation 4.

Part 5 — Mixing temperature

Mix two amounts of water - calculate the final combined temperature.

Exercise

Two quantities thereof Water are mixed: mass m1 with temperature T1 and mass m2 with temperature T2. What we are looking for is the common one Mixed temperature.

  1. Read four values float(input()) one, in this order: m1, T1, m2, T2.
  2. Calculate the mixing temperature as a weighted average Tm = (m1·T1 + m2·T2) / (m1 + m2).
  3. Round to 2 decimal places and output the result in exactly that form — e.g. B. Mischtemperatur: 50.0 for m1=1, T1=20, m2=1, T2=80.

Important Don't forget the brackets around the numerator and denominator; label Mischtemperatur: exactly — with no additional output.

Principles read in → Foundation 1, brackets around numerators & Denominator → Foundation 2, round & output → Foundation 4.

Part 6 — Reynolds number & Type of flow

Calculate a key figure and evaluate with a case distinction.

Exercise

The Reynolds number Re decides whether a pipe flow is laminar or turbulent. You calculate it from the flow velocity v (in m/s), pipe diameter d (in m) and kinematic viscosity ν (in m²/s) and then evaluate the Type of flow.

  1. Read three values float(input()) one: v, d and ν.
  2. Calculation Re = v · d / ν.
  3. Derive the type of flow from this (case distinction): below 2300 it is laminar, from 2300 to below 4000 the Transitional area, from 4000 turbulent.
  4. Pass exactly two lines from: first the Reynolds number 1 decimal place rounded, including the type of flow - in exactly this form (example for v=0,3, d=0,01, ν=1e-6):
Reynoldszahl: 3000.0
Strömung: Übergangsbereich

Important The labels Reynoldszahl: and Strömung: (with “ö”) and the words laminar, Übergangsbereich and turbulent must be written exactly like this.

Principles read in → Foundation 1, formula & Brackets → Foundation 2, classify into areas (if/elif/else) → Foundation 5, two output lines → Foundation 4.
